Word of advice... |
...never travel like this! |
Imagine this space with no furniture... |
Saturday was a banner day, we scored chairs and stools, got the paintings to a framer and filled up the larder. We've never spent so much on groceries in one go, but when you have nothing, that's to be expected.
I've said it before, but it bares repeating: Canadians are nice, at least generally speaking. As soon as we set foot on the airplane that was to take us through Montreal, the Canadianisms started. There were tons of "please", "thank you", "no, after you" and the perennial favourite "sorry". The airport staff in Montreal went above and beyond to help us with our heaps of luggage, getting our missed flight sorted and making sure all those bags would get to where they were supposed to. We really are a polite people.
So, at this point, we're running around like fools, trying to get everything bought and transported before we return the rental car. The house won't feel like ours until we get the artwork back up, but that takes time and we've got at least another week.
That's it from the wilds of downtown Moncton! Hasta la vista. (No, I'm not quoting from the Terminator!)
